Default Locked Up. What Happened?

Just found this great site. Have a prob. CR125 , 87, running good and come to idle and died. Thought it was out of gas but , yikes, no compession. had oil and all that. While hand turning over motor with my finger in plug hole the thing locks up. Plulled head and cylinder. Nice groove in cylinder and on piston. Ring stills looks all there although scuffed into piston on one side. I put in gear and backed up and got unlocked but if I try pushing down on kick starter it locks up again half way thru. What do you think? Appreciate any help on what happened and what to do next? Keep tearing apart?

Sounds like a peace of piston skirt may be in the bottom locking the crank up or a piston pin clip is stuck in a port somewhere...In any case tear it down and start over!!!!!!

Thanks for the replys. I know the top end needs rebuilding but it seixed for some reason in the bottom caus ethe top is off and still locked up. I'll check the piston and clip over better and see if something is missing but guess I'll just have to take it all apart. Never done that before. Have a manual but..? Maybe just take it in somewhere.

Too bad, sounds like the cases will need to be split. If you are in doubt of doing it yourself you might get an estimate somewhere.

Good luck!
