Three things are needed for an engine to run air,gas and spark its fairly hard for one to not start when all of these are present

You got all of these things id check its getting gas 1st

Oh check the kill switch too

did it back fire when you tried to start it? if so you should check the timing. my girlfriends CR125 did that and i couldnt figure it out at first. it was a timing prob. another thing could be the floats. check and make sure they dont have a pin hole or something take them out and make sure they actually float. i had that prob on my CR500. without hearing and seeing what its doing when you try and start it it's hard to tell

If you can "pull start" it but not kick it im gueesing its very low on compression might be time for a fresh top end
