Default cranks interchange

I read on here all the cranks 95-01 are the same but also interchange with 02-04 and even the 05-07 crank

So witch part of this is true, im ordering a new unit for my 04 but also might
need a unit for a 01

Thanks

I’m wanting to swap an 05-07 Crank in my 95. I have been looking for info and found a thread on here that died and never had the outcome. I hear it’s slight clearancing required but doable. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

A 2002 or later crankshaft will not physically fit in a pre 2002 case (too big).

A pre 2002 crankshaft will fit in a 2002 or later case, but due to the slightly
smaller halves diameter, will exasperate the excess crankcase volume
problem exhibited by the RC valved engines. Also, the 02 and later cranks
were real "boat anchors". Great for trails, MX, not so much.

Best practice with Honda CR parts is to match generations.

I am using a 2007 cr250 crankshaft in my 95 engine with no issues or modifications required.
