Default CR500 tire recomendation

Looking to try out some new rear tires this summer. It has to last more than 3 rides and work in loose conditions. I've been running the same tire for years and want to try out something different. Unfortunately I don't have the tire size with me. I'll get it posted tomorrow 18 inch rim is all I have for now.

IRC M5B seems to be a favorite with the 500 crowd. You could also look into the Motoz tires.

Metzeler MC5, Metzeler Unicross, or a Trellborg Ten Master.

I don't ride a CR500, but have recently tried the new Michelin Starcross 5 Soft tire. Hooks up very well on my CR250 and also a vintage CZ. I've had it on my CR250 for maybe 6 rides now and seems to be holding up well. Last tire was a Pirelli that chunked every side knob within 10 rides. It's available in 18" sizes.

Man.. you're so right!

I should have prefaced it better.. I'm a gurl.. so I really don't know about these things. I spend most of my time barefoot in the kitchen.. but if I did know anything, I would hesitate to recommend the Michelin S5....

but.. i am a gurl.

The current tire is a IRC Volcanduro ve-33 510-18. It last long but takes away from the handling on the tight stuff. It feels like the bike doesn't want to lean over just stay upright. I'll be riding trails so it will be mostly hard pack or rocky and dusty. I'll look into everyone's recommendations. Thanks
