Default CR500 compression question.

I recently had the compression checked on my 94 CR500 and it came out to about 170psi. Isn't that a little high? Could the bike not being warmed up enough give a higher reading? Other than my Burly pipe, Turbine Core II spark arrestor and Boyesen Pro reeds the engine is stock. I bought the bike used and the previous owner said that there were no cylinder/head/gasket mods done. Can that reading be correct? If so, should I mix in a little race gas to make things run a little better? I've been running 93 octane with Bel Ray HR1 @ 40:1.

Thanks for any input,

Scott

I did a compression check on my RM and it came out to be 178 with a new top end. So id say thats a little high for a bigger bore.

Sounds to me about right, also. My 99cr250 consistently pulls 205-210psi with about 20 hours on the top end.
