Cross reference fitment at excel's website. They will list all the years/ bikes that each rim works for. If their rim fits 2000 and 02, you are good to go. My guess is that you will be fine but you can do the homework yourself to be sure.

Click on "view compatible vehicles" link. Will cross reference for you.
RK Excel America | Excel Signature Rims
and to answer your question, 02 and 2000 are interchangeable.

I don't think they changed much for a long time. Should work I would think...

At the risk of sounding petty, I have to say hearing someone refer to a wheel assembly as a "rim" whether it's bikes or vehicles is one of my biggest pet peeves ever, right below when someone routes their front brake hose to the outside of the fork guard
That said, cross-reference the part numbers for the rotor, axle, and wheel spacers on a site like Sale on Motorcycle Parts, ATV & UTV parts Honda, Kawasaki and see if the part number is the same for both your bike and the donor bike you got the wheel from.

The 02 hub is different than the 00. It could work, but might need modifications, and you'll have to adjust the offset.
