Default CR250 92-01 governor question

Hello all,
Want to replace the governor with another one and was wondering if it can be changed without having to raise the cylinder to disconnect the link to give me some slack so I can take it off. Was thinking to loose the linkage adjusting bolt, the one that is onto the cylinder to release the linkage but i'm not sure if there is enough clearance for the governor to come out.

Has anyone else have any experience on this please?

Thanks

I have a half assembled '01 motor I could try it on, but just from here on my desk imagining how stuff goes together, I don't think so.

I'll make an effort to get to it this Saturday or Monday and post the answer here in case anyone searches in the future and for the benefit of the forum.

i think u have to pull cylinder because the arm that comes from sub exhaust linkage to governor keeps it from coming out. its been a while since i have work on that . good luck find a manual they r still around. good luck

Thank you for the reply, if it is possible could you try to loose the "adjusting" bolt that holds the actuator arm that lies inside the cylinder PV cap and try again?

Thought with that bolt loose then the linkage that attaches to the governor will give just enough slack to get out of its position.

Thanks again.

I've done it without yanking the head on my 01. I had to loosen the capscrew on the Powervalve shaft and pry the old one out and slide the new one in.

did not quite fully understand you, what do you mean by yanking the head? removing the cylinder?
Also which capscrew's do you mean? the one inside the cylinder's PowerValve cap where the link mechanism is?

Thank you
