If you back-off the preload completely, you'll likely get it to sag another inch (depending on your weight) but you really don't want to do that. If you put on a lowering link, you have to raise the forks a bit too...you lose a bit of travel at both ends so you might need to stiffen things up, just a bit. If you have to, get a pair of boots with the thicker ATV soles...you'll gain about an inch of inseam.

Some do that but I suppose it depends on how thick your saddle is, to begin with. Personally, I wouldn't start hackin' on stuff...not just yet. I'm only about 5'8" and I bought an XR650L, with a 37" seat height....and that's almost high enough to require on-board oxygen! The Koubalink dropped it about 1 3/4" in the back and I raised my forks, about 3/4". With ATV soles, I still pull a groin muscle, swingin' my leg over it but I can easily touch with one foot flat and one tip-toe, or with the balls of both feet. You really shouldn't need more than a link, for a 125.

ok thanks i have been wondering if i just need to get it over with and buy a bike or what but yeah i think a link would be the easiest thing to do. and if it can drop it and inch or even a half with my boots on it shouldnt be that bad

I am 5'5" and own a CR125. I had the auto upholstry shop shave my seat foam about 2 inches and the re-used my same seat cover. it made a big difference. It only cost about $60 to have it done. I also had the foam cut on my R6 street bike. Hope this helps.

thank you everything has helped alot i probly would have bought a 150r witch isnt a bad bike but i think for just playing around on a 125 might be a little more fun. but a 150r would be too.

The 150 is a good bike but really, you'd probably outgrow it quick...unless you're into pit-bikes, you're probably better off with a 125/2.

I'm 5.5 riding a old school 1985 cr250, which by the wa runs like a scalded dog!!! Anyway the thing is a beast, top of the seat darn near touches my belt line. It's way too tall for me but I love to ride the thing and I usually have to set up on a stump or in a rut to start the thing, but once she's running ... Well, just hold on. My neighbor has a 93 cr250 and he can't keep up with me. LOL Just ride the thing and have fun
