CR 250 99 idle problem HELP

Hello every one, just want to say this site is excellent.


I have a little problem and not sure were to shot for, you see i have a CR 250 99, and i have ha dthis problem for

a bit you see it will idle only if the idle screw is really really screwed in really its totaly in the slow jet is

2 turns out id tryed changing the slow jet screw setting but no good, but the prblem is that when i ride the bike

with the idle screw right in when ever i stop the bike is reving really hight (but not like its pin or anything) so

then you have to turn the idle down and then it will stop.
I current setting are

main 190
slow 40
clip 3
float height 16mm

my plug are usually showing rich conditions are black but not carbon fouled, my reeds are not broken or anything.
i use 25 : 1 a did use 30 : 1 i prefer the 25:1

i live in murcia in a area which is relatively high in altitude and very hot.
i have just finished a total engine rebuild i had the rod changed the seals are all new, but this problem i had

even before i did the rebuild.

would love some help a push in the right place.

sounds like an air leak do a leak down test.

Cheers dude ill give that a try, iv been trying to get hold off a leak down tester here in murcia which is in spain just incase you guys were not sure where it was, but i cant seem to get hold of one, iv been looking at trying to make one i searched for one on the internet on making one, seems easy enought so i may give it a go, after i give one more place a go at were i think i may be able to get hold of a leak down tester.

it may also be your slow jet not big enough. I don't know what size is supposed to be in that year but a 40 sounds kind of small. Mines an 89 and it takes a 62
