Thanks all! I love it and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting more out of their bike.

Does it increase power overall, or in a specific area?
Quicker response, snappier??

On my bike, it feels like it has more low and mid range power with a small bit on top too. The 66cc wasn't any harder for me to kick start than the stock head. She sounds sweet with it too. I've still got the 63cc race dome to try next (weather permitting).

2kHondaCR500R, after reading you comments, it makes me want to go ahead and bid-away on eBay, however mum and her credit card says different.

But I am happy. The pipe and silencer w/ reeds give mine more snap, so I am very happy with it.
Also, would the engine run that much hotter to require you to get higher octance fuel?

Glad you like the new head.

I was told by another 500 rider who has one of these heads that the 63cc dome is for race fuel and he uses a one step colder plug.

I'm not sure myself, but I'm going to try it out with 93 pump, 32:1 Amsoil, and stock heat range plug first. If it detonates, I'll move up to higher octane and then a step colder plug. I'll keep you posted on that (soon as the rain/snow goes away).

The 66cc dome works fine with 93 pump and Amsoil at 32:1 with stock heat range plug so far.

Yeah that pipe sure looks nice.

I don't know why, but I think the Pro Circuit pipes have a nicer "mirror" finish. I don't know why, but that's just what I think.
However I am just happy with any platinum pipe!

I'm a sucker for mods too and I keep wanting more power! lol :

Hmm, I wonder how much hp/tq this thing is making now? : Time to get a street tire on the rear and hit a dyno.

Very nice...The next bike im getting will be a 500 for sure.

You will probably see a noticable gain on the dyno, but most likely, it will not be a serious power gain from just the head alone, maybe a little bit more power here and there. However, once that 500 gets hot, the head will help to keep the temps down, making the bike run more consistently and helping to ward off most heat fade. Good luck with it, and please let us know the dyno results.

Well, I hope with the 63cc race dome, V Force reed valve, PC pipe, and FMF power core II, that she will be a good dyno queen and put out 63 to 65hp. I'd fall over if it got more than 65hp. Anyway, I'm almost more curious how much tq these 500's put down since they feel like they make tons of it. :

Am I dreaming thinking it will make that much to the tire? :

Probably not dreaming...the KX500's check in just under that stock...and If your making about 60-65hp, you'll probably be somewhere in the ballpark of 50ft/lbs of torque.
