Default Countershaft case wear?

While riding yesterday at Sandy Oaks in Ill . my chain snapped and took a nice chunk out of my case next to the countershaft output. The damage wore almost all the way through the case. I was wondering if there is any repair for this? Well besides getting a new case.

I had a crack completely through the case in that same area a few years ago and was able to use POR15 epoxy putty to fix it. It's just like plastic steel epoxy and holds up very well. After fixing it I painted it aluminum color and it was almost invisible. It lasted over 2 years with no problems. Unfortunately, I had a severe crack develop under the crank, so I had to replace that crankcase half. The epoxy worked right up to the end and never leaked.

If the wear is from the chain rubbing on the case then get a Fastway counter shaft spacer. I know it is for the 450 but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
