Question Convert '04CR85R to Expert??

Wondering if anyone has ever done this before, or looked into doing it before. It won't be long and one of my family members that rides with me will need more height, so I need to figure out what I'm going to do. I know that the tires and wheels are bigger on the Expert, and that the swingarm is longer...but I need to know if that's the only differences, and the sites that have the specs listed don't give you enough detail to really know 'everything'. Can anyone help?? I sure hope so. Thanx -jmyers

We did it with an RM 85. We took a big wheel and converted it to a standard. The only difference was the swingarm, wheels and chain length.

I believe it is the same case with the CRs.

Get a service manual for the bike. I believe it covers both. Ask your dealer for sure. The swingarm is only about an inch long than the standard. If you buy the rear wheel set up all you will have to do is buy a longer chain. Check with your deal and see if they had anyone bought an expert and changed the wheels out for the smaller set, they might have the bigger ones laying around.

Same with honda, and the only little difference when your riding is that the big wheel will go through bumps a little better than the small wheels

Other than swingarm, wheels and chain, the only other difference I'm aware of is gearing: CR is 15/49, CR/E is 15/55.
