Clip on Needle - up or down for leaner

Default Clip on Needle - up or down for leaner

I posted this in my other carb post but havent seen anything about it yet..the shop told me to move the clip on the needle before rejetting to get rid of the splooge the kids CR-125 is making..problem was..I forgot what direction! Up or down? :

If you move the clip closer to the taper you richen it. Closer to the top leans it.

What exactly is the bike doing? Have you done any engine work? I can probably help you out with those two questions answered.

Nothing..its brand new with a dozen rides on it..Its splugin big time all over itself..The plug looks fine though. The shop said move the needle..I just forgot what direction..hehehe.

Moving the clip up one notch on the needle lowers the needle and causes it to run leaner as more of the taper part of the needle is resting in the hole and vice-versa if you move the clip down one notch.

I was told to do the same thing to my 03 KTM250exc after it broke in and it clean up the spooging problem.

Sweet...exactly what I needed and I hope that cleans this thing up too...kinda annoying. 2-smokes...geesshh...Im gonna tell this kid that the next bike he needs to get will be a thumper..hehhee.
