Default Amsoil mixing question

well i just put a fresh top end in my cr250 now im going to run amsoil interceptor oil, now it says for 50:1 ratio's there no mixing chart and i was told to run 20:1 to break in the top end so should i just mix 1 bottle to 20 liters of gas? im new on here have been browsing around on here for a couple weeks

whats your guys input

what ratio do you guys break in a top end and whats the best way to do so i've heard so many different ways any help would be great thanks

I would use 20:1 as that's what I've always heard you were supposed to use. How much oil is in the bottle?

the bottle says 946ml or 1 U.S quart

so use the 20:1 ratio for break in then go leeaner after? and how much leaner is safe

I mix at 32:1, but I've heard that with a very high quality synthetic oil you can go to 50:1 Personally, I would never do that.

To answer your question about the mixing, twenty liters of gas would be slightly leaner than 20:1 Exactly 20:1 would be 18.92 liters of gas to 946 ml of oil.

I don't think I've ever changed my mix for a break-in period. I usually just mix at what the bike has been jetted for.

But, there are several different opinions on how to break a motor in.

I run my 250 at 50:1 with Mobil 1.. Way I break them in, is to start, give it a little gas but do not rev it, until the radiators are warm,, shut it off let it cool. COMPLETELY!!! do this three time.. Take it out and ride, no more than half throttle for half a tank, then go for it.

get one of these to mix with.. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I run my 125 at 40:1 with Mobil 1. I did heat cycles similar to HiG4s, but when I took mine out to the track, I rode it for maybe 5 laps, running through the gears, but never screaming it in any one gear. Next time out, rode it like normal.

However you break your bike in, I hope you have fun tomorrow.

Make sure you re torque the bolts after the first couple heatings. Almost always need re-tightening.

I would do the heat cycles like others mentioned.

I broke in my new Wiseco topend with Amsoil Dominator at 32:1 and it has been fine for probably a year or more now.

4 Bolts=30 secs...Um I have 30 secs to re-check....Last one on the 65 was 2 ftlbs after initial run. I think Andy you and my Grandfather were separated at birth, no matter what I had to say he would come back with something I was wrong about(even if it wasn't valid). I thought I would see something from you on the seating the oil bearing seal?

LOL, no, I just never find much difference in mine. I still check them again, but always ask myself why. Oh, and don't try getting on my knee either.

Yes it really did...I can't explain it. I am meticulous about torque every bolt on every bike, except the plastic, gets torqued every time. This time it was 2 lbs not BSing. Common on now 18 to 16lbs
