hey guys, i just picked up a 99 big wheel cr 80 for real cheap. a big question that i need answered is if the cylinder is nikasil coated or not? it needs a top end rebuild soon and i want to know if im gonna need to bore it. it runs good, but it bogs down about halfway through the gear then it just goes. im not new to 2 strokes so i know this is not the normal lack of bottom end. im gonna check out the air filter and carb for junk tomorrow. thanks!!

thanks, does anyone know the stock jetting specs on one? it has a fmf pipe on it and maybe they didnt rejet for it. also, whats the normal compression for one. it has 150 PSI and i dont know if that is low for a cr80. i have a built banshee, so i dont know to much about bikes yet.

Yes, in stock form its a plated cylinder. I would say 150psi sounds pretty good for a stock CR80, I wouldn't worry much unless it drops down to 140. Good Luck, Joe

It is nikasil plated and as far as boring. I would take it to a machine shop and have them hone it like .001 or somewhere around there.
