| well ive been waiting over a year for this and its finally done. i have spent more money and more time than i'll ever want to admit tearing this bike apart and rebuilding it 4 times. first time i put the motor together i forgot to put a rubber gasket in the center crank case. second time i built the motor i didnt have the transmission in correct it didnt shift. third time i built the motor i bought a cheap gasket set by athena and it caused a pinch in the gasket which in return sucked all my gear oil in through the crankcase and burnt it up through the exhaust. not only that it turned my motor into a vacuum and was sucking dirt in through the breather tube. i had to replace every bearing in the motor after all the dirt got into it. every gasket has now been replaced oem. i have learned my lesson and i will forever buy oem gaskets for now on. i will never buy a bike in pieces ever again. im not going to bother mentioning my mod list, everything you see and cant see has been replaced or upgraded. steering stem, wheel bearings, fork seals, you name it its been done. i figured ive gone this far i miles well go the extra stretch, i put 07 plastics on my 98. it took me ruffly 7 hours to do. remolding the 07 airbox with a heat gun to fit my subframe took about 4-5 hours and it didnt come out pretty. the seat cover had to be takin to an upholster because the 07 seat is longer and it wasnt fitting right. i added the vforce 3 reed setup, i didnt notice much of a difference but i think i will notice something once i get the carb jetted next weekend. so here is a few pics of the aftermath of the third build followed by the end result, 4th times a charm! all i have to say is im thankful its all over and ill never restore another bike ever again!!!!!!!!! the aftermath ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the hawtness ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Nice work!! That must feel nice to finally have it all done and ready to ride. That's a long time to wait, and even more rebuilds than anyone in their right might should have to do Congrats! I think your bike look fantastic. |
