Well post up your KDX restore job, on a new thread. I'd love to check it out.

Not bad for a 83, you ever going to rerstore it or just leave it be ?

Nice job. My bikes are usually what I call race-restored an it's turning out better than my stuff usually does.

Did you use new fasteners on the engine? I have a friend with one of those electralisis (sp) bath dipping tanks I am going to try out in the future.

I'll be tickled to death if my "new" ACE100 turns out half that good!

I am pretty certain the 1981 YZ 80 was air cooled. 1982 was the first year for the 80's to be water cooled and the 82 YZ80 was the nighmare with the radiator on the front and the coolant that went through the steering stem. Nice idea but poorly executed. Replacing the bottom steering stem bearing was considered as routine as cleaning the air filter!

You are doing a fantastic job on your Honda rebuild. Looks really, really nice.

Aluminum OEM ignition cover beats the stock plastic look any day.

Need to get a mid pipe made for the 87 pipe and 84 muffler since DG does not make a muffler for this year.

Thanks guys!

It's still not done yet, it came to a hault simply because I had to by another bike so I don't have to ride the 87 much or not at all.

Everyone that sees it seems to think I should not ride it at all and honestly I am confused on what to do, I did not restore it to be a garage queen but it turned out so darn nice I just would hate to put one scratch on it, so I bought this 80 here that I am going to get resprung for my weight and get one of those carrier rails so I can use my Accord wagon to taxi it around.

Off topic here just a bit......I just can't stand driving a gas guzzler any more to far away tracks and figure the 80 and wagon (30-33mpg) will make a good team. Honda all the way baby!

I will post nice pic's when the 125 is completly done though !

I chose the 80 because I just think I'll have a blast on it and like the fact it's not a power valved motor + love the looks of it !

Just got it yesterday so not done making the black backgrounds or detailing it yet.

That orange / red color is what honda call's Flash Red ... think more along the lines of like a firework.

You should ride it and enjoy it, it's not a collectors bike.
