Exclamation 2001 CR250 HELP!?!?!?!?!

Hello all. I have got a 2001 CR250R. I recently destroyed the entire side of my piston. I was showing off while hitting some jumps by revving the bike all the way up in flight, and the side wall of the piston blew out. Great huh?
Well here is my deal.... I pulled the motor got everything out from the crank and flushed with Kerosene like the guy at the local shop said. Crank moves great now. Put the right side of the motor back together and the kicker is making some weird sounds. When I rotate the rear tire while its in gear it sounds as if someone is letting the kicker back up after turning it over. Kinda like clicking. The kicker has no power to pull its self back up. Also, when I am installing the new piston, how do I know which is front and which is back?
Here is my questions
Whats wrong with my kick starter?
What do you lube the crank with since there is actually no oil in the crank as I just found out?
Which way does the piston go in?
Anything else I should know????
I appreciate you help in advance.

1. The return spring ain't right.
2. Two stroke oil.
3. The arrow points out the exhaust/toward the front of the bike.
4. Buy a shop manual.

When he states 2 stroke oil it is the 2 stroke mix with your gas that lubes the crank. You need to pre load the spring of the kick starter. You need to buy a manual. You may need a new jug because if you blew the side off your piston then your out of spec. No amount of revving will blow the side of a piston. It will shatter due to piston slap but not over revving. Either your rod is warped or the big bearing is fried. Did you check the lower bearings for play. What did the side play of the main bearing and spacer measure out at?

Sweet! I figured that it had something to do with the spring since the kicker wasnt coming back up. I had the jug looked at and the guy said it was fine. Maybe I failed to mention about 2 hours prior to me jumping and over revving, the bike was up to it seat in water and I had to clean and flush everything. Would that have anything to do with it busting the piston? Thank you all very much!!

If there was any water in the airbox or anywhere it could have entered the air intake, the addition of the water, even if it was a heavy vapor could have caused the piston to break. Water does compress and if enough got in the cumbustion chamber it would cause strutural failure.
