Default 2001 cr250 crank length problem?

Hello, I am in the process of rebuilding the bottom end of my 2001 cr250. I have a new wiseco crankshaft in and the cases are back together.

I am about to put the primary drive gear on the crank and it seems that the crank itself is too long... when i snug up the bolt and washer there is about 0.2mm of play in the gear. is this normal?

I cant see how this could be happening due to any error in assembly. I took some measurements of the old crank and it seems to be shorter by about 1.2mm

I'm thinking of putting a shim between the existing nut/washer and the gear since this should not effect the alignment with the clutch basket gear.

It is a wiseco crank kit for CR250's from 92-01. Maybe someone else here has encountered this problem or has some insight.

Thanks
