Motoxr99 - I don't know about mileage, you hear about huge differences, just too many variables if you ask me. Some guys are getting 35 miles to a tank while others with a similar bike get 60. My bro in law has a 00' CR 250 with the prefered PWK and I have the 01' with the "sucky" TMX, both have 2 gallon tanks, his ran out at 58, I made it back to the truck at 62.
I haven't owned a bike with a carb that uses the choke knob to adjust the fuel/air mixture like your pwm. Do you think that this is part of the problem? I just found out through another thread that the 01' - 02' RM 250 uses a PWK carb that has both an idle adjustment screw (slide stop) and an adjustable choke knob. I wonder if there are other PWK's out there that are equiped that way?

well, all the pwk's i have seen have a slide stop and air screw. the pwm carb has no idle curcuit, so the fuel provided to idle at all is provided by bleeding off the fuel enchrichment curcuit(choke). when you turn the choke knob it is slightly opening the choke. that in and of itself plays games with low speed jetting. i know some isde enduro riders as good friends, these guys had alot of factory help trying to make em work, but they never could get them quite right for that kind of use. always ended up back with the pwk carb. however, i did line up my pwm carb with a jd jet kit and i have to say i am quite impressed with the change. much more crisp, but still has a crappy idle. the pwm is just made to be hauling a$$ like a motorcross bike does. on the track you are rarely at the very bottom of the rpm range, in the woods it can be quite common.

well, i installed a PWK carb with no drama at aall. the extra length was no issue, and the stock throttle cable was fine as well.

Does anyone have a link as to how to get a pwk for $168. Or do you have to get them from the Honda dealer in America. I am in Australia. Any help appreciated.
