Im going to be scanning and posting the entire "2000-2001 cr250 official HONDA service manual". When i get a bit of extra time ill add chapters/sections. Theres always alot of questions regarding these models and i figure this will help a ton of people

I was hoping for a little more response to my questions about my '97 CR250 but this thread helped me a lot!! Thanks for taking the time to post these vital pages!!

Not to hi-jack your thread, closedcasket, but when I bolt on my shiny new cylinder, is there any cylinder wall preparation needed or do you just taker it out of the box, slap on a new piston, and bolt her back together?

Wash the whole cylinder good with dishwasing soap/mild degreaser. After its dry take some clean paper towels and wipe down the bore repeatedly with a bit of ATF or premix(not sopping wet or anything, just enough to slightly wet the walls). Keep wiping untill you get ZERO residue coming off on the towels.

On a new or freshly re-plated cylinder there can be alot of grit left in the crosshatch. You really cant see it or tell by just running a finger over it or wiping it dry.
