Default 1995 Honda CR250

A '95 popped up locally that needs some help (carb work for sure... plus the frame needs pc). I'm considering it but would like to know how "desirable" these are in the market. From what I've read the suspension was not very good, but it has that legendary '92-'01 Honda motor. I'd appreciate any input in helping me evaluate how much would be appropriate to spend on either a full restoration or just going the route of rebuilding it into a nice weekend rider.

Someone else said this about restorations. "Make a price list of every part you need, then total it up. Then take that total figure and multiply it by two then add $2000 dollars and you know how much you will spend on your restoration." That about how it works out.

Not sure if this will help in your decision butt Ive owned my 95 since 09 and it's the only bike I have. I ride it at least once a week and still race. Everywhere I go people love this bike even though it's a rider not a looker

The 92-96 CR 250s were a high point for Honda, they are very good machines and they are getting harder to find.

Thanks for the input, fellas! I'm considering it (at least bringing it back as a rider) since the seller is asking $450 obo and I have some experience with this motor (own a 2000 and rebuilt/sold a 2001). The market here is a little tough but I'm trying to do what I can to keep a little money flowing.

Went to check it out and had to pass on it (even at $300). It wound up being a 125 and the motor and frame had quite a bit of corrosion due to that it was stored outside in a bayside town.

Bummer. In original trim, the 95 is one of the more desirable models because of the wild color scheme (and they look dead sexy I might add).
