Default 1993 CR 250 value

I just got a message to post this over here as it is in the restoration forum under the 1993 CR 250 GP build. The bike has now been sitting in my basement for a year never ridden after the project. Any idea on its value? I have about $7500 into it including the original cost of the bike. I know I wont get my money out but wondering what it is worth? Maybe Dogger has a thought??

The worth of these bikes is completely dependent on what some body is willing to pay to own one.

Some models are iconic and highly sought after by collectors, the 93 is not there yet, but will be someday.

In my experience, very few bikes are worth what you have invested in them. If I were to guess, I would estimate a museum quality restoration is worth maybe $6,000. If you can wait and have an environmentally friendly place to store the bike, it will continue to appreciate.

The nos parts supply for a lot of the big items is now gone. It would impossible for me to replicate my 94 restoration now. They are unique machines, listen to Dogger and try to hold onto it if you can. My 94 is staying right in my garage. 👍

I'm a little ashamed to admit how much I paid for an undamaged OEM rear fender for my 95 to replace the UFO that it had on it when I bought it... but I want the bike to be as close to original as possible and now to my knowledge the only non OEM part on it is the rear tire now. I guess at close to a quarter century old it shouldn't be a big shock when the parts pool starts drying up but it does make it tough to restore one or keep it functioning well and looking good if it's a rider.

I understand completely, I have the same problem, I am a little bonkers keeping my bikes close to oem.

It really is hard to replicate what many of us have done with these bikes with parts becoming so hard to find. Mine has never been ridden. I have a KTM 450 and a YZ 250 for that!
