For a complicated job like this I highly recommend you pick up
either a Honda or Clymers service manual. You will also need
some specialized tools and a way to recharge the Nitrogen.
The '92 came with Showa suspension.

thanks for the reply dogger, i have the Haynes manual but it shows nothing. Ive now found a good step by step guide and have completed the rebuild, luckily we use nitrogen in work to recharge hydraulic accumulators so im all sorted.
Looking forward to your 93 build, im just ahead slightly after rebuilding my shock. Just waiting for my swinging arm rebuild kit, didnt realise theres so many items involved.

Too bad you already ordered one. I have a Pivot Works kit I
bought when I was going to rebuild a used swingarm. Since
then I decided to go with a new arm and it already has the
bearings, collars and seals installed. Guess I'll keep the kit
for when this one needs rebuilding.

Glad you got your shock rebuilt without problem - it's very
cool to have your own stash of N2 at work.

now i think i may have a problem lol i was nearing the end of the rebuild of the shock, all filled with oil and air removed, the instructions said after circlips fitted to retain the seal head , pressurise the reservoir to 90 psi and try to move through its full stroke. Now here is the problem, as i was pressurising oil hit the roof lol there was a needle valve or something with in the main shaft which came out, i forgot to refit the clevis on the end of the shaft which would have prevented it coming out.
so i stripped down and started again but now when full of oil and with some gas in the reservoir, it seems too easy to press down on the shaft as compared to before i had the needle valve blow out. seems this valve is passing oil or air through , dont suppose anybody has any ideas ?

cheers
