I was wondering if any one knows if the 1005 CR85 has more bottom end power than the older models, i'm asking because some one (cough cough trickcr cough cough) told me that they did. I also want to know because i'm thinking about getting one to race this summer and next winter.

Okay cool. Because yesterday I was riding a 2003 CR85 and it didnt hit the powerband on the low end. I was wondering if i were to buy a 2005 that it would have the same problems.

What I did to get more bottem end when I had a CR 80 was I had it ported and polished, which is kind of $$$. The cheaper solution is feathering the clutch like a 125, have you tried that?

Well, they've been working on the 2006 design for about 2 years or so (all companies do this) and they've been improving on the 2005 design when they were making the 2005 bikes.

Working on it for two years...lol,,yeah,,just read the brochures! Sine you are two years ahead of me "in the know" apparently, how did it say they were going to get that added lower end? If you want an 85 with low end consider one with a power valve and sacrifice the a little on top, along with some other areas,,just driving the mechanism for the power valve takes a little bit of power. low end is not what that class of race bike is about.
