Default 02 cr250 plastics on a 2000 cr250

Just wondering if anyone knows offhand if 02 plastics will fit on a '00.. As far as i can tell by just looking at the 2 bikes, it looks like all the holes match up, and i'd just need an airbox from a 02-04 cr250.. The reason for this is because there really isnt much in the way of graphics for th 00-01 and i really like some of the newer one industries graphic kits. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

you will need the 01 air filter sealing ring, and air boot. the 02 makes too much of a turn and wont line up.then you will have to do some cutting on the airbox to make the 01 airboot fit.you also have to cut off the the subframe tabs for the sidepanels, then weld them a little lower to use the the newer panels. i tried a 02 subframe, but it didnt fit...

the carbon fiber mount,is what i made to fit the new shrouds.with the new tank and shrouds, everything will fit, except the lower rear shroud mount.i used the carbon fiber mount instead of cutting and welding it...

Default 00-01 Graphics

The radiator shrouds will not match up, just close, but not enough. Changing the air box will only let the newer rear fender and side panels match up. The newer rear fenders and fronts will work ok thought.

Its crazy that you can't buy graphics anywhere for the 01's, the bike isn't that old, what a bunch of BS huh?

You can still get a graphics kit for the 02-new and get it to work on what you already have with your 00-01 CR125 or 250. The seat covers work and all you need to do on the newer graphics kits to get them to work is trim a little off the front of the radiator shroud since the newer shrouds just go into a little bit longer of a point in the front.

Just be a little careful when you buy your new graphics kit that you get one that has a little room to play with in the tip of the shroud area so you can scissor it to fit before installing and not have to cut part of the noticeable part off. N-Style and One Industries both have kits that look good and will work with only a little trimming and no one will be the wiser when your done.

If your getting a full kit that includes front and rear fender graphics then you will want to change the fenders. The 02-05 fenders will fit on the 00-01 125's and 250's, almost perfectly, the side panels won't overlap perfectly on the rear fender but you'll likely not notice unless you look real close, and if you want it perfect the side panels on the older bike over laps the new rear fender so you can cut it to fit perfectly.

i hate to disagree with ya, but with a little work, the newer plastic will fit.the hardest part was making the rear lower shroud mount. but even that was easy enough...

Actually, I found an even easier way to make the rear lower shroud mount work. If you have the Works Connection radiator braces on for the 00-01, all you have to do is put the new shroud (after changing the gas tank) and drill a hole into the radiator brace to make a hole for the newer shroud.. No need to even make an adapter like the carbon fiber ones you made for your bike

well i finally found the time today to do the conversion on the bike.. how weren't you able to use the 2002 boot for the air box? It fit on my bike fine.. it sits tight on the carb and the bend clears the rear shock but just barely. The only thing I dont like is that there's pretty much no clearance to change the spark plug with the new tank.. Anyways.. here are some before and after pics...

i did get it to line up, but it was a little off for my tastes. i felt that there might be the possiblity of the boot popping off on a jump landing. thats why i ended up with the 01 boot and ring.plus i had a bunch of filters for the 01,and it didnt have the sealing problems of the 02 airbox. for the tank, i heated up the area above the plug, then pushed it in a little(kinda tricky, not to poke a hole in it) and also used a spacer under the front tank mount and rear tank pad to raise it up slightly... your bike looks great man....

where did you get that clutch cover with the indentation?? i NEED one! lol.. mine doesn't have the indentation by the shifter and my shifter always rubs.. and how big of spacers did you use for the tank? i'm gonna have to do that.. as my bike sits, the tank has to be lifted to do a plug change..

i got it from a buddy of mine that rode for honda over here i saw one just like it on ebay last week though...for the tank, i used a 10mm thick washer in the front, and cut off the old tank pads on the side(where the old tank used to rest on) and glued one of the pieces under the main pad on the backbone
