01 cr125 Only starts with starting fluid.

My 01 cr125 will only start with starting fluid. One it's warm it fires first kick.
It has a new piston, head gasket, crank seal, and wp seal. The float was sticking so I rebuilt the carb, and now it won't start cold without a shot of starting fluid. After it's hot it fires first kick. Any suggestions?

Dirty or otherwise clogged pilot jet. Run a welders tip cleaner through it and clean with carb cleaner.

if you do the same test running raw gas down the caburetor on through the spark plug hole you will find it probably works the same and bears out what PAW says.

By the way, remembering the old rhyming song, just what is a PAWPAW and what is a pawpaw patch like anyway?

I remember that too, but my name comes from my grandchildren. Thats what they have called me for about 17 years now.

The fun part was calling my exwife "granny" when she was 40!!!
