Default 01 CR 250 Powervalve

Well I have the topend apart on my bike right now and would like to clean up my powervalve. I have the manual but just a few quick questions. I have the right and left side pv covers off. I took the allen bolt out that holds the small arm on. I also loosened the bolt on top that should allow the whole thing to slide through but cant seem to get the parts out. Do I have to take the circlip off the left side also before this assembly will slide out? In addition, do I have to take apart the other part of the pv where it actually rotates the crows foot. I under stand that if I loosen the other allen bolt and take that assembly out I have to readjust???? Is this difficult.
