I just bought a 2000 yz80 for my son when we got home i had to try it out ,of course, but i noticed when you let the clutch out about halfway it grabs, there is no riding it out. im not real sure what the problem is. or is this just a yz80 thing.

thanks for any help.

try adjusting it at the perch. If that doesn't work try to disconect it where it goes into the case and reposition it so it grabs at the end of your relaese.

could be that the clutch basket has grooves in it.

This would be my guess. However I would say it could be an agressive clutch set up that way. Before you go and spend alot of money try putting some high quality gear oil in it. Belray, Mobile, Castrol Amsoil. Personaly I use Belray but all these are good.

it has oil. the kid that rode it before was a very good and aggressive rider. so it could be setup for him, ill try the perch adj. and go from there.
