Default yz250?

Hey guys
I am thinking of upgrading my 125 to a yz250
everyone is telling me it is too much!
Im 145 lbs. 5'7. not very big
Im not a very fast rider. but i am pretty smart
i like my 125. but i really want a wider power band with that snappy, fun pull
Can you guys tell me what the step up will be?
any major differences?

i have never ridden a 125 but i have a 250F and want a older YZ250 as an extra bike. here are my specs: 135 pounds and 5'8". i rode one a while ago in sand and it was a lot faster than my 250F. i loved it. i think if you want to upgrade then get it. im getting one and im a bit taller but a lot less light weight than you are.

The bike will only go as fast as you make it go. I can ride my YZ250 like an XR80 if I want to. (with the flywheel weight, it's even easier) When I first got my bike I was 5'8" and 135lbs. I don't see any problems with you getting a 250, unless you are like 12 years old. Go for it.

thats exactly what i wanted to hear. its just many people are telling me, "oh, your gonna be wheeling up jumps and its scary fast. blah blah blah"
i jus hope its easier to prepare into corners and not too heavy. that is all.

Get the YZ250! If you are proficient on the 125 the 250 will be no problem and suddenly everything will be a lot easier. You'll clear those bigger jumps, go through the woops faster, power up the hills lightning fast it's awesome coming off the 125 to the very usable power of the 250.

go for the 250, im only 5'6 and a beginner and im ok. i just take it steady and get more conifident the more i go on it. only trouble i have is kicking the beast up, i have to try and get to mound or something so i can reach the kickstart.
