yz 125 oil capacity?

i bought a 92 yz 125 and am gonna do a little tune up. changed the plug, cleaned the air filter, did a little cosmetic work and now am wondering how much oil goes in the trany?

most likely it holds 650ml. or by an easier way get someone to hold the bike up straight, unscrew the oil level checker(located near the oil cap, probably a like 10mm bolt) undo this bolt and pour in oil untill you start to see oil comming out of this whole. then you will know how much oil you need. What type of oil are you planning on puttin in by the way?

Adjacent to the fill hole there should be a measurement in cc and/or ml. If I remember correctly my YZ125 took about 3/4 of a quart.

My '01 yz holds 22 ozs of oil. I would do like E says though and look for the stamped number on the case...

Is that 22ozs with or without a filter change?

22 ozs without a filter change, but with a powerband change.

IIRC, mine held 650ml. I don't know what that converts to but I would say about 22oz.

I checked my notes. You and Char are right. I was thinking about the 250 when I said 3/4 of a quart. The 125 was about 2/3 of a quart.
