| hey guys, i left a post on here last wed stating i was getting y first 250, its a 1990 model not a 94 like i was led to believe, neway up until yesterday it was running sweet as a nut, bit hard to kick but bumps easy enough then the thing just up and died on me! I was trying to turn around in a tight space, didnt give it enough revs and it stalled since then it hasnt started. theres fuel getting through and the air filter isnt blocked but it isnt sparking. is there a common fault on these models or am i missing something obvious? plz guys im desperate 4 help, its a sin 4 her to be sat there with no life in her!! any help would be GREATLY appreciated Cheerz guys Donk |

| Well if you aren't getting any spark then my suggestion would be to check your plug (i.e. gap, color), your plug wire as well. Was it running rich or lean when it quit working? Is it hard to kick now that it can't start or is it easy now? Try these things and then let us know whats up. I will try and help as much as I can and I know that some of the wiser ( |

| the plug lead was a bit frazzled when i unscrewed the cap so i sliced a small part (10mm) off the end to make a better connection, cleaned the plug(which is off a fiat by the way! but i didnt think that would be the problem as it run sweet with it for a few days) and the kick is the same as it was as to running lean or rih, it wasnt smoking as far as i could see and i used the ratio 32:1 as posted on here, do you think it could be electrical? thanx for the quick reply! | Well if you don't have any spark then it is for sure an electrical problem. If you are using a plug from a Fiat then I would say that you should get the right plug for the bike. Certain plugs burn hotter then others and they are designed to fit into the cylinder head. I was wondering if it was running rich or lean because to rich will foul your plug. To lean and you will detonate. What color was you plug when you pulled it out and cleaned it? I suggest that you first get the right plug for the bike and get back to us. |

| NGK BR8EG is what I run. I think that most people run the NGK BR8EG plug. If the Fiat plug that you had in there was longer and went into the cylinder too far then you could have been doing damage to the piston. You have to be careful with that kind of stuff. One little spark plug can ruin your top end. I hope that I have been some help to you. |
