My '05 YZ250 was spot on off the floor. I LOVE the bike. Take the advice of going back to the dealer and get it fixed by someone who knows what they are doing. You mentioned you think you know jetting, but if you're having this much trouble.... you might not.

No its deffantly not stupid to sell a hot selling bike, its actually quite the oppisite.

Im tired of every time I go riding I have to change the plug at least once, or mess with the fuel screw or idle. I meen its probally something really simple, but I will let somebody else mess with it.

I also have a hard time jumping it once I do get it running. I practiced for about 2 hours trying to get this bike to jump even/normal and its just so hard. It either feels/seems like Im going to do a backflip or a endo, there is no in between. I meen, I could probally out jump myself riding my TT-R 225 instead of my 250 cause the power is so wierd.

Anyways, I hoping to get at least 5 for it, if anybody in the Maryland area wants to stop by and check it out and see if they want it, just PM me and Ill give you my number and address and what time would be good.

don't know what to tell you then. The YZ250 has to be THE best jumping bike I have ever ridden. The power is very smooth and it is so light in the air it responds to the slightest body english.

However there is something I can help you with. "Meen" is spelled "mean", "probally" is spelled "probably", "deffantly" is spelled "definetly", "oppisite" is spelled "opposite".

Also, a two-stroke does not have a fuel screw. BUT you will enjoy the first time you foul a plug on a 450!

No offense, but clearly you do not know how to jet or you wouldn't be looking to sell it. Take it to someone who knows what they're doing and let them sort it out. Every other 2005 YZ250 I've ever heard about runs just fine. Yours is broken in some manner. Something is plugged, leaking, or just plain defective. It's not an inherent flaw with the design.

As for being stupid for selling a hot-selling bike, we'll agree to disagree on that one too. Why would I pay $5000 for your used one when I can get one fresh out of the crate for a few hundred bucks more (machoman393's $5350 sale price)? Particularly when your unit doesn't run worth a crap and fouls plugs constantly. I've never bought a bike I didn't hear run first, particularly one with a $5000 price tag. Fouling a plug instantly isn't going to do much for the market value of it. In fact, I'll bet dollars to donuts that the potential buyer will either turn and walk or they'll low-ball you on price. Now maybe if all the 2005 YZ250s are sold out you might be in good shape, but the fact that it doesn't run worth a crap isn't going to help you get top dollar for it.

Now that I think of it, I did buy one bike that had a plug fouling problem, a 1992 GSXR750 (in '92). I absolutely raped the guy on price. After a few hours of work on my part, I had a bike that would absolutely scream and never put a new plug in it again. His loss was my gain.

Besides, what if your new 450 isn't jetted spot-on when you get it? Will you sell it for a 250F, or fix it?

I think you understood what I was saying, and thats all that matters spelling nazi. I could understand if I made a post like" Yo yo yo, miz 250's not runniz like goodz up in herrr, so I thinkz imz going to sells it yo"

The point is that my bike is not running right, and im extremly pissed cause ussualy when you buy a new bike it runs right. I meen, isn't that the whole point of buying a new bike, so that you know nothing is wrong and it runs good?

Guess not, but anyways, Im getting some new oil and plugs here soon and hopefully I can adjust to jumping a 2 stroke cause my dad said im not getting rid of a brand new bike.

Satch, since aparantly your bike runs flawless, can you post whats your altitude, pre mix ratio, and pre mix, and jetting that you run?

Im pretty sure you mentioned already that you run MX2T and stock jetting, but I am just double checking.

Also, if I were to sell this bike, I would loose some money, but it starts first kick, and only fouls a plug if its not warmed up. Sooo all I would have to do is ride it around a little bit, and it would be warmed up and not foul a plug when they started it.

Thanks for all your advice guys, all though some were more smart *** comments then others.

Hopefully I can get a 450 for a good price, I don't really care if its a 04 or 05 as long as it runs.

Its a 05 model. Still on the stock plug. Its the best bike I've owned. Had it since late November last year or later not sure, lol.

If I were you I would put all the stock jetting back in and run MXT-2 or 2-R at 32:1 with a fresh plug. If you have jetting troubles on fouling plugs, just run a BR9ES until you fix the problem. The plug is half the price of the BR9EG. Make sure all you vent lines are not plugged. When you start it just have the choke on long enough so it runs itself. Go to Gary Semics for tips on jumping.

What kind of plugs are you running? The only other reason that would foul plugs besides the jetting is off is not riding it high enough in the power band, just bogging it around will foul plugs out. I have no idea if this was any help, but just throwin in my .02.

My '05 YZ250:

STOCK EVERYTHING!!! (Plug, Air filter, reed cage, pipe & silencer, and jetting)

850 ft. above sea level

95 octane pump gas

Castor 927 40:1

Runs balls out, not an issue.

Know four others the same story.

Why don't you start with a leaner pilot jet and see if that cures any fouling problems...first set the float though.

Personally I wouldn't sell it...It's a solid bike that you can't go wrong with!

And on the jumping part, have you set your sag?

So Herr Satch, you are a Nazi too. Welcome to the club.

Raptor, you have one of the top bikes on the market. You have come to the MOST helpful board on the internet. You have gotten some great advice on fixing the issues you are having with your bike. A little humility and some careful reading should help you fix it. We want you to be a contributing member and benefit from our experience.

BTW, it's not cool to call out one of the moderators by calling him a nazi. While it is just a name to some, the Nazi's were a group responsible for killing over 6 million people. We are just trying to help you.
