Too heavy? A YZ 125 won't change much. Actually, to tell you the truth, I don't see many women on 125s unless they race. A YZ 125 is a great bike, but the weight thing will hardly change. What type of riding does she do? Has she been on any other bikes? How tall/heavy is she?

How tall is your girlfriend? I think in stock form the yz's seat height is a little taller than the kx, but I could be wrong on that.

Um..FWIW, I ride a 125 and I don't race. I like my bike very much and the weight has never been a factor. If that's too heavy for her, maybe you should consider a kx100?

Or..this is always this option:

Sounds like a KX100 would be good
It's a very light weight bike, and has good power.

Women don't need to ride. They need to sit at camp and look pretty and cook for us.

JUST KIDDING!

I would rather see a begginer fenal on a bike that wont frustrate them. A good TTR or some sort of bike with electric start would be great. Once she finds out she likes riding and can hold her own, she can move up to a bigger more powerful bike. I just can't see throwing her on a hyper 125 when she is just starting to ride.

AHAHAHAHAHA
Anyway yeah you don't race but you are pretty darn good...
I am thinking the 100 is a good idea. I used to have one before I got a 125 and it really helped prepare me. The are a lot of other options though...it all depends on how she rides, what she does, her weight/height, and if she likes power

If shes short then,

custom made for da midgent. I think if she likes the two stroke and ur going to throw some money at it get a ktm 200. there not nearly as high strung, but they still got plenty of nuts.

Another option would be to go ahead and get a 125 and then look into some kouba links for it. Not sure how much that would lower the seat height, but I think it'd be noticeable.

And Tdub...that's Macho's bike, not mine.

NOW the real story comes out! Dude, she'd flip a KX125 before she'd flip a 250F. But it's cool. Don't tell her I said that. You've been riding longer and you deserve the F.

I don't appreciate that Macho..............:
I'll tell you what though, if you can beat me, then maybe I'll agree with ya about this statement.

But personally I think I could school you on the track AND in the kitchen

Get the lady a four stroke CRF 230 or something, she'll do fine.

For someone 5'4" the Kx100 wont seem at all small or slow. They are a far better trail rig than any of the 85's. Similar peak hp but run down low way better. The one that I am around has a better power band for trail than any of the 125's I have been on. Kind of hard to find used it seems like though, but lots more inexpensive than a new 125 if comparing new bikes. If you look at 85's though, the kx and the rm are way easier to use than the yz and the honda.

I agree with this. I have a lot of experience around the small motocrossers and this is about 100% true.
