Default water from radiator overflow hose

bought a yz250 1997 from a friend. when i first tested it saw there was a 300-400 cc water missing in the radiators. added water and saw the water driping from the overflow hose. i tot i addad to much but the water continued to overfow. i checked the cap and its fine and i installed a new head gasket yesterday - didnt checked it after the new head gasket . my friend did a new piston n rings a 20 hours ago so i guess no need for new piston or rings - anything else should i check or the new gasket will solve it? dont have time to check it till the week end.

If it is coming out of the overflow hose then it has to be getting by the cap (assuming it is set up like my 99wr). I dont think the head gasket would make any difference if it were coming out the over flow.

Go to your local grocery store and buy "White Distilled Vinegar" and mix that 50/50 with some distilled water.

Fill the system with the 50/50 mix, run the bike until warm, let cool, drain and then run clear water through to wash out the vinegar.

It's the same idea as cleaning your coffee maker.

The vinegar is acidic enough to remove any scale or impurities, but not so harsh that it will harm your delicate seals and gaskets.
Engine ice dave off of TT.

It may have been filled with tap water and now be slightly clogged from the minerals.Give it a flush and see if it helps.
