Default value of my bike?

Can any of you guys tell me what my bike is worth approx.?
it is a 97 yz 125
it has a brand new bottom end whole clutch assembly and top end and transmission gears.
it has an athena high preformance cylinder and head with matching piston.
at has a procircuit pipe with fmf turbine core silencer
VForce reeds and a uni air filter
the forcks and triple clamps are from a 2003 and the shock and linckage was replaced a couple months ago along with all the bearings
brand new tires both ends, chain and sprockets (renthal) and IMS series 4 pegs.
plastics are in good shape with a new one industries graphics kit and gripper seat cover. it also has oversize bars.
Please be honest with what you would pay for this bike if you were in the market for a used 125.

If you haven't noticed, decent bikes bottom out at about $2000. It's rare you find a bike for less that doedn't need about $700: Check the CycleTrader.com and see what bikes like yours are going for. Motor work won't help the selling price IMO. In fact, I get kind of wary about a bike with too much work done, just because I don't know WHO is inside my engine. I'm sure yours was done well..BUT! As a buyer i would rather spend $2600 on a '03yz125,pro-curciut pipe, V-Force ,top clamp, Hinson basket susp mod (it's right here in the CycleTrader) Than spend $2100 on a '97. sorry.....no matter how much dough you drop in an old bike...they always bottom out. How much do you think it's worth?

I'd guess about the same and no more than 2000, sorry but wFo250 was right. I am thinking you should try for 1800. One of my bikes is a 1998 yz125 and if I were to sell it right now (which it's got a lot of aftermarket stuff on it, over $1000 worth) I'd sell it to my friend who will probably buy it for about 2,200 to 2,500 (2,500 possibly because I will give him the other plastic that came stock with the bike, a few types of riding clothing and I will be getting a new pipe for it which it already has a pro circuit platinum which is dented and I'll give him that probably too if I do sell it any time soon) so yeah I really don't think you should settle for less than 1700 but no more than 2000 IMO.

If you've done alot to it and if your friends know this selling to a friend is your best bet at taking the least amount of loss. I just sold my CR250 01 to my friend for 2200.00. He's seen how I took care of the bike the entire time. Hes seen how it starts easy and seen the extra 1500 dollars worth of stuff I've put on it since I had it.

A bike to someone who knows you is worth more because either way its gambling. The same friend who bought my bike had purchased a 97 yz250 two years ago on ebay for 2000.00. It had a bunch of aftermarket stuff on it, and was claimed perfect condition race bike maintained by local shop.

Well fact of the situation was that it was the biggest pile of Sh$T weve ever seen. The powervalve was rigged open. First gear failed after 2 rides. The clutch was shot. I can go on and on and on. ...

Just sell it to a friend or take the loss.

considering that i just spent 1900 on all the new motor parts that i listed i will not settle for less that 2000 and will probly sell it to a friend or someone who doesnt know that much about race bikes and is basing their choice on preformance because after a test ride i will sell it, it is the fastest 125 ive seen. the cylinder is said to be better that the stock 03-04 cylinder and it is the same one that would go on a 04.

people don't like buying older bikes that are expensive, thats the whole reason they are looking at older bikes. OBO would be good also.

you can go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and get an idea of what your bike might be worth. I wouldn't exactly say that NADA is telling you what your bike would sell for in your area but it is a good starting point.

I will have to agree with something around there. You also have to remember its an 8 year old bike.
