Default Tranny oil for '05 YZ250

What kind of oil are you gus using for your YZ's. I used Yamalube 4 for my first oil change. I know there are better oils out there. Any suggestions?? Without breaking the bank. I see it calls for 10W30 SE Type.

Any transmission-specific oil should be fine.

But you are asking which brands, so I use Shell Transoil.

Mobil Redcap was all the go I hear but I think it has been discontinued.

Satch uses Syntec 20-50 in his 05 YZ250 and is liking it.

Others will put forward some of there suggestions...

I have been quite happy using automatic transmission fluid in my two strokes since the 70's. One had over 15 years (CR500) and the gears and bearings are still useable except for the countershaft. Best I have found for clutch life. Cheap so you can change it often.

I switched to type F tranny fluid and it worked great. Just changed the fluid on my new 250 and put type F in it too.
