Your talking stock and 70-75 sounds bout right...

You can alter the top speed by gearing if you were wanting a higher top speed.

But think about this, I would rather have a lower top speed and hit it often, rather than have a high top-speed and never reach it.

I rather have the higher top speed and never hit it mainly because you know you can still go faster and you havent maxed out the bikes limits of that riding place.

Yes, on the trails and roads maybe it's always to have long top end.

But if you racing/track riding then I would gear it so you are using the bike's potential and keeping it in meat of power (shorter ratio gears)

Agreed but just stay in the power band then. I rather have a wide gear ratio then close I rather be able to ride out that gear then to worry bout shifting.

True.

I guess it's all up to personal preference.

Yes... but see I only got my yz because of price otherwise I would of went straight with kawasaki for a 2 stroke but for 4 strokes i'd surely go honda. only 2 stroke i'd get from honda is the 250 only because I here nothin but good about them. But why get one? I have a yz250 so whenever I want a powerhouse I can ride that.

Do you have NOS, or was the banshee being stopped? Really though, what do you have done to your bike to beat a banshee? Even stock they are extremely fast. A stock banshees top speed it somewhere around 80 mph.
