Default Stock sprocket sizes for an 01 yz 125

Hey guys,

Got my first MX bike in over 10 years. Actually it's only my second MX bike ever and my first yz. It's an 01 YZ 125. I'm wondering what the stock sprockets for an 01 YZ 125?
It has a 13 sprocket up front and a 50 on the rear. The rear sprocket and chain appear to be very new the front sprocket however looks like it's been through hell. The teeth are worn and curved like ocean waves. Should I just put another 13 on there? I have not ridden the bike yet as it needs some TLC before it gets going so I don't have a feel for the bike yet. I wanted to see what stock sizes are to get a feel for it.

Thanks
Malcolm

I want to say 13/48 is stock gearing, but I'm not positive on that.

I think the general rule is to replace chain and sprockets together. However, if you're just wanting to get the thing running, a front sprocket is cheap. I guess you could run the rear sprocket and chain until they need to be replaced and then replace the whole set?

Yeah I figured the rear sprocket and chain are decent so might as well just put a cheap front sprocket on that's not so messed up. Then after all that wears out replace them all as a set.

Well if stock is 13/48 I think I'll just replace my worn 13 with another 13.

Thanks guys

I am about 90% sure the stock sprocket ratio on my 2000 was 13-48 so I think Char is pretty spot-on

I had a 48 tooth Renthal sprocket when I bought mine 2nd hand back in 02. Once it was worn down I threw on another 13 and decided to go with a Talon 50 tooth. I loved the closer gearing and quicker acceleration!

I then bought a 12t sprocket to interchange as I felt the need to but I felt that I like the 13-50 worked well for me on my 125
