Dang man...you need to spend more time cleaning that bike, and when you do, don't just use a water hose! Go get your sister or brother's toothbrush!

Hmm...where is all that oil coming from by the water pump...it almost looks like the powervalve cover wasn't installed...lol

You really should have hosed that motor down with Castrol Super Clean first then washed it....it would have been 100% clean of grime.

Yea I've been cleaning all that grime off all night so far it was a ***** to get the wrist pins out of the piston! Yea trakcontrol told me it was the power valve seal thank god its something stupid! Who ever owned it before me didn't torque the bolts done well it was really easy to get off the head bolts. Just gotta wait till thursday when my piston kit and engine seal kit comes in. Everything looks good so far tommorrow im cleaning the power valve I can make a rebuild guide for you guys if you'd like. This is my first rebuild trackcontrol told me it let go on its own after not being rebuilt since I got it. So tommorrow sending my mom out to buy a comp tester a trque wrench so EVERYTHING is done the right way. I have the piston in my hand n im taking pics right now ill post them in a few min.

I would have to agree with Satch and say that you should have hit the engine with some degreaser before taking it all apart. Castrol works, as well as many other, just make sure you read the directions and most of the time your supposed to dillute it, or else it will corrode aluminum and take paint right off.

Its strong stuff, and I use it all the time, but I dillute it as well.

Simple green will do the job alot of the time also...you can get it at auto zone, they had a special and I got the spray bottle and 2 refill jugs for 10 bucks, been using it after every ride and has lasted 3 months, about to run low tho.

I was really surprised that was a 2002! wash it once and a while will ya? lol.

First time poster, recently registered, long time reader!

oh yea, good luck with the rebuild, shouldn't be a big deal.

Well today I had no work to do on the bike so I took a 6 hour nap i'm taking off of school tommorrow friend is heading over tommorrow bringing his torque wrench and learning how to re assemble a bike since he's never down it before. I get my Wiesco piston and everything tommorrow with a complete engine seal kit my cylinder and head are spotless clean the powervalve was stiff but brake cleaner fixed that. I'll take pics of reassembly tommorrow n wash it spotless clean.
