To make it leaner, you move the clip downwards.

ifn you move clip down it will lift the placement of the needle letting more fuel in (richer)if you move up it will drop needle farther into main jet letting less fuel in (leaner)
but thid only controls closed throttle to 1/4 trottle you sould look into main jet change

The clip only affects the richness of the mixture from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle,, is it rich there or under 1/4 throttle or at full throttle..

first you need to make sure you have the right main jet size.. warm up the bike, put in a new plug, go wide open (WOT) through 3 gears, hold the kill switch while staying wide open, and take the plug out and check before you start the bike again. If it is rich there then you need a smaller main jet.. If not you can try another new plug and ride around keeping it around half throttle,, that will tell you if the clip needs to be moved..

I dont know my bike just takes a bunch of kicks to start and when I put a new plug in it starts 1st kick so i know its the jetting...its annoying, I went to take the carb off but its impossible to take it off without taking off 5 other things so I didnt feel like doing it now. All I know is that its hard to start and has a oily black plug!
