Default Running RIch

I have a question on my 97 yz 125. It runs a little rich. It usually starts on first kick if not its the second kick. I run 32:1 with spectro oil and regular pump gas. When i start her up it runs but in idle and slow speeds it runs very rich (more smoke the normal 2 strokes) Once you start riding her it stops running rich. Idk what it is. Do you think the carb needs to be cleaned and jets adjusted or is it the idleing speed that needs to be adjusted. THe bike is awesome always has the wheel off the ground when on the gas hard its aweseom..i do need help figuring this one out though.

Dont want to be blowing any motors. As long as your not fouling out plugs, what is a little smoke gonna hurt. Its a two stroke its meant to smoke. Also.... some 85/125 mx bikes have a tendency to bog off the bottom end due to the lack of a powervalve. What does the plug look like?

Smoke is good. It's there so the four stoke guys know not to race you because your bike is faster than theirs.

If it isn't fouling plugs and is running fine. As in not bogging or anything. I'd leave it as is.

Remember too, that when the motor is cold it can't burn off all the oil and will smoke allot and might spooge some. Once the engine gets up to temp it should smoke much less. I run Castroll TTS at 40:1, I get almost no smoke once it is warmed up.
