OK! well ive got the holeshot button on my bike.. i posted a thread about the 03-04 model YZ250s but i finally found one and got it on. I was tossing up about getting the 304 factory sound or the R304 shorty.. i went with the R304 shorty. Now this muffler is alot louder but its supprising how much power i gained, the bottom end to mid range is very much improved, the top end seemed to be just the same as with the normal muffler from the factory, but i wasnt on the best track to test topend with, and for anyone racing dont worry about any mod to your bike, NOTHING will get you a holeshot more than a holeshot button.. its really unbeleivable, i am sitting towards the back of the seat doing my start and getting so much traction and the front end isnt even coming up.

What exactly is a holeshot button and how does it work?

umm well its like a little button that is drilled into your fork guards, on the start line you lift over your bars and grab onto the front wheel and pull it up where there is a little bracket where the pin hooks into, and it works by keeping the front wheel on the ground off the start, and getting maxiumum traction, its sick

lol what? That does not make sense to me at all

im not 100% sure on this so correct me if im wrong, but from what i understand it has something to do with compressing the front forks on the start line, so when you start it makes it harder for the bikes front tire to lift off the ground hence getting more traction and less tire spin.

There are a few types out there but here is one of the original and the best. It's called the EZ Holeshot by Works Connection. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

All it does is compresses the forks so the front wheel doesnt come off of the ground, but once you hit a bump it de-compresses the forks back to their original position.

Could you elaborate more on the shorty pro circuit? I was interested in buying one, but this is the first review I have read about it, and im interested to here more. Do you think its worth the money? Thanks

Yeah, from all reports they perform well. Just pick your brand and go. I can vouch for the FMF Shorty's performance. If you are interested in a Pro Circuit R-304 Shorty, PM Woody_YFZ and he can get you one.
