Default Renthal or Pro Taper

Having a hard time figuring out which bar to purchase

Im havent riden a bike without a cross bar yet (pro taper), is there any major differences i should be aware of between the two?

The set of Renthals i have on there right now are bent

Should i give Renthal bars another chance?

What are your opinions?

(basically looking for a set that is bulletproof and easy to control/turn/wheelie)

It's really all about finding a bend that's comfortable to you.

I run the Pro Tapers. (CR High Bend) I've had some NASTY crashes that most definitely would have bent the stock Renthals. I found the bars on Ebay and got the bar pad, cover, and oversize mounts for less than $60. Considering the crashes I've had, I won't run anything but Pro Tapers. Just one man's opinion.

ive ran both renthals and protapers, its really just a "pick you color question", they will both handle what ever you can throw at them (or into them) i personally love the look and feel of the fat bar and plan to keep running that

I like Pro Tapers. My first time ever riding a bike without a crossbar was a set of pro tapers, and I really enjoy'd them.

I'm running Pro Tapers and they are awesome. I too, have had some nasty falls but they haven't bent at all where the stock Renthal's definitely would have. For me, it's a no-brainer to keep running the Pro Tapers.

renthal twin wall bars are my pick - mainly because they're the only oversize bar with a crossbar

Either of the fat bars should work fine. I'm partial to Pro-Taper, but that's because after almost 4 years of running mine, they were still as straight at the day I bought them when I sold it.

sure miss my bike

I personally like the Renthal twinwall Carmichael style. But it pretty much comes down to the color and the bend that agrees with you the most. They are both excellent brands so either way you will get your moneys worth.

I've been running them for about 7 years, same pair, still as straight as the day I bought them. One thing to consider is that if you bend the Renthal's, they will replace them for free. I don't think ProTaper will do the same, but chances of bending either are pretty slim. If you do manage to bend them, you probably have bigger things to worry about.....seriously.

Nice. Mine are black w/ the black pad. I love them. I wrecked hard enough to dislocate my knee and they didn't move. Pretty sweet.

I have run both the Pro Tapers and Renthals and myself, I prefer the Renthal bars. But I have some shoulder and neck problems and the Pro Tapers and just too darned stiff. The Renthals have some give and dont transfer as much of the trail to my arms. Plus with Bark Busters on the bars, I have never had a pair of Renthals bend on me. Not to mention that I like having a crossbarr with a pad on my bike. You can fit a spare plug into the crossbar pad lol.

Just email their customer service, or call them on the phone and they will work out the details. I've not yet had to do it!
