Default Rekluse auto clutch in YZ250 and more....

Was just wondering if any of you have any experiance with running a Rekluse Auto Clutch in a YZ250. I am about to return to the world of 2 strokes on an 06 YZ250 and I'll be setting it up for the trails.

I have a 04 WR 250 that I have been racing in Enduros and hare scrambles and I have a Rekluse Auto clutch in that and I LOVE it! At Rekluse they tell me that it works just as good in a 2 stroke as it does in a 4 stroke. Would just like to get some feed back before I spend the money.

Also I was wondering if any of you have converted to a WR wheel to get the 18" wheel or is there a better/easier way to get a 18" wheel on there.

Great forum lots of good info. Looking forward to getting back on a 2 stroke!

In a nutshell it's a auto clutch. It replaces some of the OEM parts in your stock clutch and allows for stall speed and engagement adjustments. Once installed you never have to use the clutch lever again, just put it in gear and twist the throttle. You still shift gears like normal but without the use of the manual clutch lever.

Iv'e been riding and racing for about 30 years now and consider myself a fast trail rider, I installed one in my WR250 and love it, it's like cheating. Iv'e done a few enduros and a hare scramble with it and it works flawless. You can't stall the bike, lock the rear wheel up going into a corner and blast out, no brainer.

The only draw back that I can see is that you can't bump start your bike but up to this point that has been a non-issue for me.

It's going to be one of the first mods I do to the YZ

For the wheel I would think that a WR wheel would be the easiest but lacing up a different rim to your stock hub would be the cheepest. Also, white brothers and others sell complete aftermarket wheels which are supposed to be lighter/stronger than stock, but I've never seen any proof of that. They do look quite nice though. No experence with the auto clutch, though everyone I know with one loves it (including a guy on a KTM 200 EXC which is sorta similar to your YZ).

good luck

I have a 2000 426, the Rekluse Clutch is the best legal cheat you can put on your bike besides suspension work.

I love my Rekluse, it has draw backs but so does stalling. The Rekluse is IMO hands down the best mod I put on my Bike, Talk about getting through ruts, mud and anything else most people would falter on, the Rekluse allows you to concentrate on technique and not muscle power.

Some dont like it, I love once you ride a bike with one you will never go back....

Think of how a Honda 50 operates. You can't stall it period. I've heard great things for woods riding with those.

$429.00 - $500.00 depending on what bike you have. They have prices on their web site. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

If you get a chance to ride a bike with one, try it. Iv'e let 3 people ride mine and all three installed one in their own bikes.

They are as said between 4 and 500

As far as a flywheel no a flywheel will not prevent stalling.

If you interested I may be able to get you a great deal on this clutch.

Kind of pricey but it seems worth it! That will probably be on the list for me to buy.
