Default Question about retro piston sizes

Will a CT1-CT3 (1971-1973 iirc) piston work on a DT175A or B? ('74-75)

I see all these listings on ebay that list CT1-CT3 and include DT175 on the list of compatible bikes, I just want to know if they arent just throwing in keywords or associating the DT175B with the CT3 because the former is a direct descendant (pretty much a model rename) of the latter. it's like those ads that say "1972 DT175!" when it was a CT2 for that year.

If they're compatible it should make my life a lot easier.

ct2 (72) ct3(73) dt175(74-81 and mx175 (79-81) all use the same piston.

Yep, I have owned just about all of them and they are pretty much the same motor. I think that the only real difference is that the DT had a pointless ignition and black engine cases. Not to mention the frame was a bit better design.

mine has the silver case, yeah I love the frame design on the '74 and '75 models. the AT and CT's had that weird bar thing coming down behind the engine. also I love dual shock. Not a fan of mono-shock on motorcycles, looks weird to me for some reason. few bikes I've seen that have mono-shock I genuinely like.

only issue I think I'm going to have is the fact there's no VIN on the engine, it was on a metal sticker a friend peeled off (sdafasdf), but it was faded anyway and barely readable. not to mention this bike is a basket case with no pink slip

I am not a huge fan of the old Yamaha mono shock where it went up under the seat and tank, but the newer style with linkeage I am a huge fan of. My back still hurts from riding the old dual shockers. I rode them for way too long.
