Ive got an 89 yz 125 that im tryin to fix up. It isnt getting any spark, ive replaced the cdi and parts of the stator, and spark plug. I cant figure out why it wont get any spark. Got any suggestions? Tomorrow i am going to trace all the electrical lines to check for splices or tears. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hey if u read my therad we are in the same boat. Follow all the wires to where connect to the frame or motor then verify they are a good ground with a tester, very cheap at Sears if u don't have one. U may want to test your cioil too. KP

if the kill switch was not hooked up, like the wires werent connected for it, would that cause an incomplete circuit or something so no spark?

i took the rotor off and was looking at the stator, it seems like it might be missing a wire, but i dont know. Also where do i connect the kill switch to? I know where one wire goes, to the ignition box, but i dont know about the other. Here are some pics to help you understand more. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I don't know much about stators but your kill switch needs one wire to the black box and one to ground. That could be either a common ground or simply ground it on the handlebar. Hope this helps. KP

Ok i found out one of the things wasnt grounded(i cant remember names this early in the morning) so i did some grinding got all the paint off, and grounded the kill switch with it. Still doesnt work. Can you have two grounds on one piece of metal? If so, any other suggestions on what to check, thanks!
