Every tuner I have talked to says it is the best pre-mix oil available. Blendzall would be 2nd. They are both castor based.

Believe it or not, for a non-castor based oil, Yamalube 2R is highly recommended. I have also used Mobil MX2T with good results. The Mobil is available at most AutoZones.
V-Day, just to make sure I got your recommendation and its basis straight . . .

You do not recommend Maxima 927 AND Blendzall for an engine with a powervalve primarily because they are castor-based, correct? And, therefore, the non-castor based oils are the ones more suitable for engines with powervalves (Yamalube 2R or Mobil MX2T)?

DCox,

The castor based oils are dirty and require more frequent maintenance on engines with powervalves. If I were riding 125's that required frequent topend maintenance anyway, I would use 927 in them at 32:1. Mitch Payton would tell you the same thing. Pro Circuit uses 927 in their engines. I use it in my Maico because they have issues with the big end bearing not getting enough oil. Every time I have pulled down an engine, I find a nice oil film in the bottom end from the castor. None of my 2 strokes have powervalves, so I don't have to worry about gumming them up.

But for a modern 250, the top ends last a relatively long time so you would need to do powervalve cleaning before you needed to do a top end job. Due to that, I would sacrifice a little protection for a cleaner burning oil. I personally like Yamalube 2R. It's easy to find, burns clean, protects fine, and it has a blue-purple color so you can tell when it is mixed. It is a semi-synthetic blend.

I run my old pre-mix in my lawnmower even though its a 4 stroke. The neighbors look at me a little funny when I get that stoned look from sniffing the castor pre-mix burning.

I like 2R and super M. They are pretty much the same. And I use Golden Spectro in the trans.

Yeah, we use Maxima Super M in our '03 Ktm 250sx. Seems to be working just fine for us, and it's not too expensive.

I only run Amsoil Dominater ,Designed for raceing engines only ,It doesn't clog up and really clean out exhaust ,Never foul plugs and no problem with build up in pipe or power valve ,Tryed
silcolene trashy oil, used to use castrol until I went with amsoil
and DO NOT mix oils also Motul 800 is good about the same as amsoil really close, The way i look at it If I'm gonna run synthetic Amsoil originated synthetic oil and has the most exsperiance with it ......So I'd trust them over others?
Don W. I mix at 44.1 amsoil say50.1

I use mx2t on my yz... it is a great oil but my favorite thing about it is that I can get it at autozone and the price is reasonable.
