My 05 YZ250 Off Road dream....

Thought Id share my bike Im building. I am in love with this bike. Great power, light weight, QUIET. I come from 4 strokes in the past 4 years, and one 300 2 stroke. This YZ built my style is one great off road racer, as good or better than anything Ive owned. Its almost done. Still planning on Vforce reeds, and am waiting on my Acerbis 3.4 tank(backordered)

A little on top. Im going to toss the stocker back on for desert races, and keep this on on for the woods races.

I may even just buy the 304 Nature friendly, which is the same length as stock but spark arrested. The bike still hauls butt, just doesnt have any over rev...

Why did you go with the 18" rear, just for the lower gear ratio or are there other benefits?

18" rims don't change gear ratios at all.

They give you a taller sidewall, which is less likely to result in pinch flats. That's why all purpose-built offroad bikes (CRF-X models, KDXs, etc.) come with 18" rear wheels.

Mainly Desert harescrambles and a few woodsy enduros. Norcal and Northern Nevada.

Ill have the new tank next week. Ill post new pics when it is on. Thanks for the comments, I think it sweet too
