If you had read my post more carefully you would discover that is not what I said. The iCat (or its predecessor) was designed to reduce emissions in wharehouse loaders. The DIS does save parts but also has the added benifit of burning off extra waste during the exhaust stroke. I said they shared the principal, not the reason for creation.

I read what you said. That "added benefit" doesn't exist.

Most of the things I have learned are from trial and error, because I couldn't find anyone that knew the exact answers for sure. So I guess sometimes there are no exact answers , so you just have to try.
No, you just asked the wrong people. Nothing on the I-CAT is unknown.

I Believe the literature alluded to it's heritage on forklifts. Funny how I spent a combined 28 years in either supplying the freight/construction industry or running a freight terminal (one with about a dozen propane and gasoline powered lifttrucks) and never saw one of them (Icats) on a lifttruck. (We had some diesel lifttrucks too,,,I don't supose they have an application for that though.)

I haven't had MTK's at length training in the physical sciences,,maybe only half as much. I think way before I completed that part of my formal education, I got over expecting a real change by adding anything onto the end of the plug wire. This isn't the first thing that I have seen with the same claims.

Maybe I simplify things too much when I expect a noticeable change for 200 dollars. No debates,,,just real results. I am still looking for that 200 dollar slipon that you will really notice. You shouldn't need testimony to find it. I still know people who claim they can feel the power increase with certain oil treatments and that they got a gas mileage increase from little spinners added ahead of the carburetor/throttle bodies etc. Something that the manufacturers just couldnt seem to figure out I guess.

So,,read what you want, use your imgagination, and go just as fast as you want.

I think it all boils down to you thinking it makes a difference, therefore you feel it. You have the gained confidence and will probably ride better. Money well spent? If it works for you, then yes. Psychology trumps Physics.

I agree. When I was younger, I used to always feel little things (that really made little to no difference) had a huge effect on power. But, if it works for you psychologically, then it's increasing your performance and therefore making you a better rider.
